Effective Board and Council members demonstrate a combination of competence, skills, and good character.  Join Roy Seidler of ROAR Leadership in this engaging and informative course designed to elevate your understanding of board governance and enhance the effectiveness of your organization’s leadership.  This interactive course is ideal for current board/council members, aspiring leaders, and anyone interested  in the principles and practices that drive successful governance.

Outcomes: Participants will come away with a deep understanding of governance principles, practical tools to enhance their Board’s effectiveness and a network of peers to support ongoing learning and collaboration.

Please come prepared with a nut-free lunch on Saturday. Light refreshments (fruit, granola bars, etc.) and coffee/tea are provided. A list of nearby restaurants will be provided for dinner and lunch, if required.

Roy Seidler is currently a co-owner of ROAR Leadership Consultants Inc. founded in 2008.  Previously, he served for fourteen years as the Superintendent of the Seine River School Division and from 2008 to 2016 he was the Executive Director of the Manitoba Association of School Business Officials.

Prior to his appointment as Superintendent, he served as an Assistant-Superintendent for five years and principal in the K-12 school system.

Roy lives in Giroux, Manitoba with his partner in business, life and golf, Odette.  He has three children and seven grandchildren and is very active in community baseball and hockey as an organizer and coach.  He is the founding president of the Carillon Minor Baseball Association.  In 2016 he co-chaired the PowerSmart Summer Games and was inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005.
