5th Class Power Engineering Certification of Competency Examination Preparation Course – 2026/2027 Intake Year

This program is of interest to anyone wanting to work towards provincial certification required to operate or maintain a heating plant in a school, apartment, or similar setting.

RETLife is hosting the 5th Class Power Engineering Certification of Competency Examination Preparation Program in the Fall of 2026 on Saturday mornings OR Tuesday/Thursday evenings.

In the event there are not enough registrations for a class to operate, registrants will be given the option to move their payment to a different date during the same intake period.

Prerequisites:

• Be 18 years or older
• Have some experience operating or maintaining a heating plant in a school or similar setting
• Strong competency in reading, mathematics (arithmetic, geometry, measurement, and algebra)
• Be comfortable learning and working with technical language (Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 is strongly recommended)
• Be committed to studying outside the classroom for up to 5 hours per week

Each class is limited to 20 registrations.
